BioPersonality: Jowy appears as a nice boy in general, but you could say he's divided into different parts actually. First we learn about Jowy as a friend, who would help his friends without any doubts, even if he has to endanger himself. He's there for them no matter what and stands by your side if you need him.
The second Jowy we see is the lost child, who feels unloved and lonely, who is envious of those of those who share deep bounds, who tries to struggle to prove himself as worthy of love.
The third one we see is a boy who values families in general very much, may they be blood-related or not. We can see it the way he treats Pilika, who has lost her parents. He gives her loving embraces, tries to teach her and loves her deeply, she is much more of a family to him than his own ever was.
Fourth is Jowy as a traitor. Jowy goes to ridiculous lengths to do that what he thinks is the best, even if it means to go against his own believes and to abadon his friens or kill other people in proof of his loyality, only to backstab them later on. Even though he feels bad when he does so, he accepts being hated by everyone if it means greater good.
The final Jowy we see is Jowy as a king, who acts cold, but values his people very much and doesn't want to disappoint his people and tries to inspire his army. He follows Leon Silverberg's orders obediently to do his best and protect his people from dangers they don't even know. Even though this Jowy is much colder than the one from the start, he still feels attached to people.
Background: Jowy was born into the aristocratic family of Atreides. Never feeling really loved there, he made friends with Riou, who was an outsider himself and spent much time with Riou's family, namely his sister Nanami and his grandfather Genkaku. Like normal children, Jowy and Riou did lots of foolish things, like spying into the royal garden. During this time, Jowy developed a crush on the princess of Highland, Jilia Blight.
After the death of Genkaku, Jowy and Riou joined the Unicorn Brigade, but at the last day, a massacre takes place, lead by the prince of Highland Luca Blight, to let rekindle the war between Highland and the City-States once again. Jowy and Riou survived the massacre through jumping of a cliff, promising if they ever get seperated, to meet at this place once again.
Jowy is found by a little girl called Pilika, and her family takes care of him. After he heard that Riou is held captive, Jowy comes to his rescue and the both of them return to their hometown Kyaro. Unfortunately, they are branded as traitors and spies for the City-States and are lead to be executed. Jowy learns during this event, that he isn't the real son of his father and is abadoned by his family. On their way, they meet Jilia and Jowy tells her that they had not betrayed Highland, but that Highland had betrayed them. Before the two of them could be executed, Riou and Jowy are saved by Nanami and the mercenaries who had captured Riou.
Later they visit Pilika, but her hometowm get burned in progress and Pilika leads them to the Rune of Beginning, each of them gaining a half of it. Jowy is entrusted with the Black Sword Rune. After seeing the cruelties of Luca Blight and after Pilika lost her voice, Jowy decided to fight for the City-States. With the mercenary fortess being burned, they move to Muse, meeting Lady Annabelle and decide to do a job for her: as spies. While they try to find the information on the camp of Highland, they are almost captured, but Jilia offers them shelter. Nevertheless, Jowy ends up being captured and is blackmailed by Luca to either kill Lady Annabelle or bringing his family in danger.
Gaining again his 'freedom', Jowy decides to assassinate Lady Annabelle and to join forces with Highland. He gets promoted through the military ranks pretty fast and with his tactical advisor, Leon Silverberg, conquers Greenhill without violence. There he meets Riou, who became the leader of the army from the City-Sates, and Nanami again, but he let them get away. Two generals of Highland, who see his real ambition - to bring peace again and to get rid of Luca Blight - vow their loyality to him. Jowy asks Luca for permission to marry Jilia Blight and after the killing the king of Highland, gets Luca's okay.
Succeding in his plan to kill Luca Blight, he marries Jilia and calls for a peace-treaty with the City-States, but traps his friend in an attempt to kill him. He is only stopped by Pilika, who has found her voice again. He takes care of her like she was his own child and the war is dragged on, since Leon advised him into unifying Highland and the City-States to avoid future wars. Jowy's life energy gets drained by using the Black Sword Rune to stop the Beast Rune, which had been realised by Luca Blight and has already killed many people.
